At Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, gratitude takes center stage. This holiday season, we had the great privilege of celebrating all 165 Bucuti Associates with a private shopping night at Do-It Center, one of Aruba’s most beloved retailers.
On Dec. 13, staff arrived at the Do-It Center to find the store closed exclusively for them, with shelves stocked and special offers waiting. Each team member was gifted a shopping spree worth 300 AFL, plus 100 AFL for our BAV members, allowing them to select items ranging from groceries to home essentials. And, that was just the start of the joyous evening. The spirited event was set against a festive backdrop, with the popular Aruban band Buleria providing lively entertainment, ensuring the night was filled with music, dancing and holiday cheer.
Lisanne Coffy, representing Do-It Center’s marketing team, shared her excitement about hosting such a meaningful event. “We love partnering with Bucuti & Tara to join in making their employees feel appreciated,” she said. “Seeing the joy on their faces as they shop is a gift in itself.”
This event reflects Bucuti & Tara’s ongoing commitment to our dedicated Bucuti Associates, who are at the core of delivering the Caribbean’s No. 1 vacation and one of the Top 25 vacations in the world according to Tripadvisor. Recently recognized with the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) CHIEF Award for being the Caribbean’s No. 1 employer because of a holistic approach to staff development and support, the resort continually prioritizes initiatives that celebrate and support its team.
Our Owner/CEO Ewald Biemans opened Bucuti & Tara more than 37 years ago with just 11 staff members including himself. Well into a highly successful career as a hotelier, he knew that caring for staff had to be in harmony with the caring of guests. Today, he continues this approach and shares it with the resort’s legacy leadership, granddaughter Crescenzia Biemans, who delights in talking about celebrating staff such as with this year’s shopping extravaganza holiday gift.
Crescenzia expressed the significance of this gesture. “Our Bucuti Associates are everything. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. This shopping night was more than simply being a gift; it was about making their holiday season a little brighter and more meaningful.”
She added, “At Bucuti & Tara, 61% of our staff have been with us for over a decade. This longevity is a testament to the mutual respect and care we share as a team. We aim to create moments that remind them of their value and importance.”
Bucuti & Tara’s leadership felt it also received a gift in seeing the delight that Bucuti Associates felt that evening. As the night came to a close, Bucuti & Tara’s leadership delivered heartfelt messages of thanks, celebrating the team’s unwavering dedication. From music to shopping, and most importantly, an overwhelming sense of appreciation, we hope this festive evening will surely be remembered as one of the highlights of 2024 for the Bucuti & Tara family.
