Bucuti & Tara Lights Up Aruba’s Sky with Sustainable Holiday and New Year’s Drone Shows

Bucuti & Tara Lights Up Aruba’s Sky with Sustainable Holiday and New Year’s Drone Shows

The holiday season at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort was an enchanting blend of modern innovation and eco-conscious celebration. The Caribbean’s first and only certified carbon-neutral hotel hosted two dazzling events that lit up the skies above Eagle Beach: a Holiday Drone Show on Dec. 25 and a New Year’s Drone Show on Dec. 31. These breathtaking displays, crafted by Drone Shows Aruba, captivated both guests and locals, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional fireworks.

A Modern Twist on Holiday Magic

At 8:30 p.m. on Christmas Day, a fleet of 70 vibrant drones danced above Bucuti & Tara’s iconic stretch of Eagle Beach, setting the stage for a holiday spectacle. Guests and locals marveled as the synchronized drones illuminated the night sky with festive imagery such as snowflakes, Christmas trees, twinkling lights, hearts and gift boxes. For New Year’s Eve, the drones upped the ante with a mesmerizing display that included “2025” written in the stars and Champagne flutes toasting the new year.

These unforgettable aerial performances provided stunning visuals while fostering a shared sense of community. Guests watched in awe from various vantage points, including beach loungers, private balconies and Elements Restaurant, where a special holiday meal complemented the visual feast.

Sustainable Entertainment: A New Tradition

Bucuti & Tara continues to lead the way in sustainable hospitality. By choosing drone shows over traditional fireworks, the resort demonstrates its commitment to protecting Aruba’s pristine environment. Fireworks, which the resort retired in 1990, are notorious for releasing harmful chemicals, creating waste, and disturbing wildlife. Drone displays, on the other hand, offer a clean, noise-free and eco-friendly solution that preserves the island’s natural beauty.

“Bringing the future of aerial entertainment to our Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort guests and community as holiday gifts has brought great joy and camaraderie during this year’s holiday season,” said Crescenzia Biemans, Chief Corporate Officer. “We are delighted that this sustainable choice protects our shared planet while allowing all of us to continue the tradition of celebrating.”

Commitment to People, Place and Planet

As a global pioneer in upscale sustainable hospitality, Bucuti & Tara continues to champion innovative and sustainable practices. The collaboration with Drone Shows Aruba is just one example of how the resort integrates eco-conscious choices into unforgettable experiences for guests and locals alike while supporting our local economy and home community, all examples of how UN Sustainable Development Goals power your Bucuti & Tara vacation. From the serene beauty of Eagle Beach to its steadfast dedication to sustainability, Bucuti & Tara remains a beacon of harmony between luxury and environmental stewardship for you, our guests, Bucuti Associates and the greater community.
