A main reason Bucuti is one of the most beloved resorts in Aruba is our location on Eagle Beach. The pristine wide stretch of sand has been designated as one of the top beaches in the world attracting visitors from both near and far. While our resort area is reserved exclusively for our guests we cannot deny beach access to anyone, as all beaches here in Aruba are public.
Fortunately, we do not have a major issue with crowds coming to our beach, which allows us to maintain a tranquil atmosphere, however there are occasional outside visitors. You may recall having seen thatched huts (palapas) located on the beach in front of the resort. These were considered permanent structures and since they were located on a public beach they were available for public use. In an effort to retain the facilities for the sole use of our guests we have replaced the structures with large umbrellas.
Since we are able to close, or even remove, umbrellas on the beach, our resort staff can manage their use and provide them to guests seeking shade. As you can see in the image above we chose oversized umbrellas that are a neutral shade to provide the necessary comfort to our guests and keep the beach looking pleasantly uncluttered. Replacing the palapas with umbrellas also reduces the amount of maintenance required by our resort team. Maintaining the look and feel of the resort is of the utmost importance to us and we aim to provide our guests with a high quality product in all areas.
The palm leaves that make up the palapas needed to be replaced frequently and we found that Aruba simply does not have enough palm leaves to keep the palapas up. While some resorts choose to import the leaves from South America we try to avoid the constant shipment of items, whenever possible as part of our eco-friendly practices. The maintenance of our new umbrellas is much easier as we can buy bales of the treated Sunbrella material and replace and repair them ourselves. We thank you for understanding and accepting this necessary change.
We believe the addition of these umbrellas and the soon to come new beach loungers will further improve the Bucuti guest experience.
